Super Sleuthing 101

I’ve had a relatively uneventful day so far – stayed up far too late reading The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud (… for work!) I can’t lie, the only thing that kept me going was the gratuitous descriptions of the main character’s body.

… Don’t look at me like that, he asked for it. What with his “deltoids visible through the thin material of his shirt” and his “trunks [hanging] low on his hips” – Ben Sherman knew exactly what he was doing.

Ahem.

Anyhow. Let’s move on.

What you're missing is Misha Collins as an Angel. Your loss.

I started the Harper manu for Fallen on my reader this morning on the train – I’m only about 15… er, 52 pages in so far (of 330 odd), but I don’t think it’s going to take me long to finish. I’m looking forward to all the fallen angel books we have coming out … Angels are the new Fairies which were supposed to be the new Vampires dontchaknow. That “we” was deliberate and royal, as in We, the Royal Publishing Companies of the Americas.

So far, I think Ellie is an angel, and Michael is an angel, but they’re enemies – BUT DON’T KNOW IT YET. Let’s see if my suspicions pan out.

Once I got home, I took a break from reading to watch two episodes of Veronica Mars with my soon to be ex-roommate. I’ve seen the awesomeness that is this series already, but I’m always ready to do a rewatch with a fresh pair of eyes. We may yet do two more eps tonight just to finish the season before this roomie (lamely) moves off to California – only time / my ability to stay awake will tell.

Now: A break from blogging to read (again for work!) The Brixton Brother^s and The Case of the Case of Mistaken Identity. I am super excited.
… Mostly because my boyfriend wrote it.

An hour later, I still haven’t quite started Brixton yet – I will! Rest assured, it will be read by tomorrow. Instead, I spent a a bit of time going over a 7x20x21 post-pre-post for my friend at Happy Hour Lit.

I am a horrible, horrible liar. I read about 30 pages of Brixton Brothers – not because it isn’t good. It’s great so far, this fantastic throwback to The Hardy Boys – well, Nancy Drew for me, since those brothers Hardy didn’t do it for me unless they were working with the girl detective. So, it’s a throwback, but it is still has this lovely modern humor and a modern take on old fashioned art, thanks to the ever impressive Adam Rex.

Speaking of sleuthing and girl detectives, I did end up watching the last two episodes of Veronica Mars season 1 – the payoff’s just as good the second time around. She is definitely one of my favorite girl detectives – had a little more spunk than the early Nancy Drew. Though, ’80s Nancy Drew could maybe give Veronica a run for her money.

Okay, so a summary!

I read 82 pages of fiction.
I read / soft edited 2 pages in a Word document.
I watched 4 episodes of Veronica Mars.
I don’t think I’m going to count the amount of time I spend on blogs unless it’s got a ton of video – it just seems like too, too much. And while I need a project, I don’t need the mundane project of counting up exactly how many minutes I waste on other blogs and journals, ahem, thank you very much.

Well, it’s 12:15, so I’m out. Goodnight my future readers, goodnight.
